Rotating Gamma Technology™ for Noninvasive Brain Surgery in Southern California
Understanding Noninvasive Brain Surgery Options
Receiving a diagnosis that you have a brain tumor or brain disorder is a frightening experience. Amid such difficult times, navigating the world of potential treatments and cures can be just as frightening. At Beverly Oncology & Imaging, we choose the Rotating Gamma System® (RGS) radiosurgery device because of its simple, intelligent design and proven success in treating brain tumors and other disorders.
If you would like more information about the treatments and services we provide, such as Rotating Gamma Technology™, please contact Beverly Oncology & Imaging.
The RGS has its collimators built into the system. The RGS rotates a full 360 degrees to maximize tumor reach, and the operator can block or turn radiation on and off as it passes over sensitive parts of the patient's anatomy. This design helps speed up patient treatment times, increases patient comfort, and helps maximize sparing of healthy tissue when targeting tumors and lesions.
Effective Treatment Planning for Optimal Results
Our team of radiosurgery professionals works with patients and families in Southern California to determine the best treatment plan for each individual. While all radiosurgery devices operate under the same principle—directing targeted radiation and lesions—the type of software that produces the treatment plan varies. The RGS Vertex360™ uses the Explorer4D™ Treatment Planning System, a sophisticated software package that gives medical physicists and physicians a sophisticated level of control in determining radiation and placement.
Innovative Technology Focused on Patient Care
The devices, technology, and software we use are at the forefront of medical science and innovation. They enable our team of highly experienced neurosurgeons and specialists to provide the highest quality care possible and deliver positive results to our patients.
